Straight flute end mills for keyways are manufactured with a minus tolerance to assure proper slot size and to easily hold location of keyway channels. Spiral flute keyway style end mills are designed to cut to size and have a minus tolerance. By lifting the chips they can mill deeper keyway channels. Straight flute end mills ranging in size from 1/4″ to 1 1/2″ are designed for plunging, slotting and spot drilling. They are manufactured to a minus tolerance of .000 to -.0015 on the diameter. This assures proper slot size when milling keyway channels. integral to straight flute design is strong support behind the cutting edge eliminating the prospect of deflection of the cutting action.
